[MPlayer-users] How to get sound from sound card?

I have connected video signal to video input of bt848 card and audio signal to line input of sound card.
Mplayer can play video just fine but whatever I put to audio options, I always get "no audio" message. 

My system is Slackware Linux and I have normal alsa sound. The audio signal comes in, I have tested it with mixer and jack. 

What options I have to give to get audio?
