[MPlayer-users] Why is MPlayer shown as "shared library"?

Hi
I looked inside the /usr/local/bin folder of my Ubuntu system.
Most of the files shown there are "executable", which seems appropriate.
But MPlayer shows as "shared library", which seems weird.

MPlayer works OK, but is there a reason for the "shared library" description?
