[MPlayer-users] Can't get mplayer -tv to play back audio input

I've attached a headset to do sound testing without feedback. This showed
that no -srate is necessary; but, it was showing video really slow with the
sound (and shows the "your system is too slow" message). The following (-ao
alsa) solves this:
mplayer -ao alsa -tv
'device=/dev/video0:driver=v4l2:alsa:adevice=hw.0,0:forceaudio:immediatemode=0:audiorate=44100'
tv://
(although it still shows a "system is too slow" message sometimes, even
though "top" only shows 7-15% cpu usage (of one core on this dual core
system).)
But there's a delay of the sound appearing of about a second after the
picture, and hitting the + and - keys, although displaying A-V Delay
shifting, does not actually shift it.
