Aren't there any Windows codecs for mp3pro around? Using them in
MPlayer should be a lot simpler than xmms, which I believe never worked
properly anyway.
Btw. about that article: libmp3lame exporting a getbits function is a
major bug, and checking on my current Debian one that still hasn't been
fixed.
I thought by now everyone would be using linker scripts or visibility to
only export symbols that are actually part of the API.
