Why are you upset with gnome-mplayer being called what it is. Gnome mplayer
is just a GUI wrapper around the mplayer command line tool. Without mplayer
it doesn't do any media playback. It was developed at a time when the
mplayer GUI was declared dead, and in combination with gecko-mediaplayer
provides a different set of features than mplayer. gnome-mplayer is similar
to SMPlayer and do you have a problem with that application?
