This makes absolutely no sense (MEncoder is using FFmpeg 
to decode files and it is mostly using the same encoders 
as FFmpeg).

(And please do not forget that MEncoder is not an 
actively maintained application for several years 
while FFmpeg bug reports are often solved within 
hours or days.)
