[MPlayer-users] [Query - mplayer usage in Linux based FPGA]

Hi,
I am a newbie to video player porting.
I am working in mplayer porting to Linux based ARM-FPGA board.
This board have hardware modules to decode/encode video streams.


*My question are:*

1)  Can we use/plug this hardware module with mplayer.
2)  Can v4l framework be used for this case without the use of gstreamer &
openmax.


Plz suggest me some web links to start with.
