[MPlayer-users] Channel map of mplayer

I have read some docs but I cant make
myself 100% sure.

doesn't mplayer have a uniformed channel
map for output, does it?

What I concern is that, many audio codecs
 have their own channel map, such as FLAC,
AAC, AC3... ...

Does mplayer has its own channel map
definition so that even the codecs change,
the channels of audio output remain?

I know there is pan and channel filter that
 I could manipulate channels whatever I want,
 but the codec info is unknown until it is 
opened once, then add the filter.

is there any way to let mplayer do this for me
inside of itself?
