What in the world did make you think that you "need" to use this with
mplayer?

"LAV Filters" is just ffmpeg made available to windows player via
DirectShow, and mplayer already supports ffmpeg natively. I can't think
of any good reason why you would want to go through a DirectShow
indirection.
