Hi,

sorry for the delay...I did some experimenting...

Yesterday I started playing this video with XBMC on the Beaglebone, because
this application was used in some Youtube videos to demonstrate the
capabilities of the hardware of the Beaglebone.

Then I noticed the not-so-contstant playing speed ("vfps" ;) ) and
thought of mplayer to recode the the video on my PC to something
more Beaglebone-friendly.

...this morning I noticed, that mplayer itsself is installed on the
Ångström-Linux, which is used on the Beaglebone... :))

The first experiment then was to simply playback the video as it is.
It was diplayed with no stuttering with constant fps ... with the
wrong aspect ration (egg-head effect).

Then I tried

    mplayer -vf scale=-3:480 <video>

and it was played with correct aspect ratio .... and heavily stuttering.

The output of

    mplayer -v <video>

ON MY PC is shown below as case 1.

The output of

    mplayer -v <video>

ON THE BEAGLEBONE is shown below as case 2.

Both videos were stopped manually after the first frames were displayed.

I would be very happy if there could be a way to play videos like this
one on the beaglebone preferrable by adding parameters to the call of
mplayer or by carefully recoding the videos on my PC.

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

Best regards,
mcc
