The filter only converts images. It is the -vo 's job to give the 
pictures to the display. I have never used a 3D-display, I can only 
guess based on a player for in-shop advertising of samsung 3D-screens. 
Those screens take a fullscreen side-by-side picture and internally 
split it into the left and right picture. Windowed playback is probably 
not possible. The screens do not automatically set 2D or 3D mode, the 
user has to switch manually. So I think, there's no communication 
between a player software and a 3D screen.
