I've uploaded a sample file (it should be up in a minute or two)

http://ubuntuone.com/6YQloUunKc6sPjUZF0RMLL  thecapsaicinkid.mpg (200MB)
http://ubuntuone.com/1hSHYiUxocrdHE9aXr5PQe thecapsaicinkid.txt

Just to recap,

Problem file is a BBC HD DVB-S2 recording from MythTV @1440x1080i25

In terms of video playback, this plays back perfectly with the stock
Ubuntu 11.10 mplayer2 but will occasionally crash at specific points
in the video.

mplayer.c:2460: fill_audio_out_buffers: Assertion
`sh_audio->a_out_buffer_len % unitsize == 0' failed.
MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: decode_audio

svn head at the same point (right at the end of the clip, where the
guy plays the piano for the SECOND time) in the video will start to
drop frames rapidly and not recover until you seek, even if you seek
to a second after the framedropping started. Audio is also permanently
out of sync.

Out of interest, the same videos in mythfrontend will stutter at the
problem points in the video and play slow for a second or so but
recover. Audio is out of sync exactly like mplayer svn.

Thanks
