[MPlayer-users] Subtitles and the on-screen seek bar

If they're SSA/ASS subtitles, you should use -ass when starting MPlayer.
To remove the OSD can be removed by using -osdlevel 0.

Have a look at http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/man/en/mplayer.1.txt to see all 
the various sub-commands.
