[MPlayer-users] Aspect ratio auto-detection for vf=crop, expand=:::::n

Hi,
I am using "vf=crop,expand=:::::4/3" config line for a long time
to insert subtitles in the bottom black strip, when playing wide-screen
video on non-wide screen.
It's advantage is that no black strips are added if video is not wide-screen
and black strips have
height exactly correct for filling the screen and preserving video file
aspect ratio no matter what
height / width / ratio the video file was...
It was great solution until I started to switch 4/3 display and 16/9 TV
output regularly.
Now I have two configs (one with "vf=crop,expand=:::::4/3" and other with
"vf=crop,expand=:::::16/9")
that I am switching every time before launching mplayer.
So I want to ask:
Is it possible to set up some auto-detection of screen aspect ratio for use
in .mplayer/config?
(for the best without need of making shell alias or scripts - that would
loose the beauty..)
And if not, can be this feature add to mplayer? Something like
"vf=crop,expand=:::::-1"?
Thanks,
Roman Polach
