I suspect posting in German on this mailing list is considered rude as is
cross-posting (which you did not).

MEncoder is not an actively maintained application for several years. This means
that, while compilation should succeed and (most) new features from FFmpeg and
MPlayer should be usable from within MEncoder, bugs are typically not fixed.

The reason is not an FFmpeg conspiracy, but only lack of man-power.

I do not know of any known mem-leaks in FFmpeg (and I should know), I would be
very surprised if there is no mem-leak on every single call to MEncoder.
(Please note that there is a very well defined difference between a mem-leak and
large needs of memory in an application.)
