No, that is definitely not the latest version.
Because that one would tell that you can't compile a 64 bit MPlayer.
A 32 bit one (e.g. via --cc="gcc -m32") should work fine for example.
I don't believe that using clang would help though, it still uses the
same binutils to my knowledge (though it is possible it defaults to 32
bit).
