I am able to successful compile the "mplayer-export-2009-09-14" 
snapshot.  I noticed some other CFLAGS so I attempted to compile 
"mplayer-export-2010-03-17" with those as follows.

$ ./configure --prefix=/opt/mbl --confdir=/etc 
--mandir=/opt/mbl/share/man --cc=gcc --extra-cflags="-std=gnu99 
-ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer"


It gets all the way through but fails at the final command.
