[MPlayer-users] Resampling output audio in an AVI file

Hi.
The AVI files with audio samplig rate higher than 44.1 kHz cannot be
played proprerly
by my (old) DVD player. Most of the audios are "MPEG-1 Layer 3
(stereo, 48000 Hz)".
I need to use mencoder to convert those files to a 44.1 kHz audio.
I tried to use the "-srate" option but that was not the right option.
The manual page seems not to contain such an information.

Is there any hint on how to accomplish my task?
