[MPlayer-users] quicker mplayer startup for TS

Hello,

I am doing a GUI for watching TV (from dreambox). The problem with
mplayer is when zapping channels. It takes too long for mplayer to
start showing the window after startup.
Fragment of the stdout:
...
TS file format detected.
<here is quite big delay>
VIDEO MPEG2(pid=210) AUDIO MPA(pid=220) NO SUBS (yet)!  PROGRAM N. 28007
...

Does anybody have a suggestion for optimisation?
