It was a bit different but still no success.
I got a menu up now, but when I tried to activate a movie, then it 
started to write this on the text output continuously

DVDNAV stream read error!.124 ct:  0.091  22/ 22 294% 81% 968.7% 3 0
DVDNAV stream read error!.164 ct:  0.087  22/ 22 282% 78% 928.4% 3 0

I also found out that if I enter dvd://16 or dvd://26 then it will play 
these two tracks, and it reports the angle for these. And looking in the 
output it looks like the angles are correct detected in these two cases.
