Hi,

Eric (of OpenBSD), noticed that on OpenBSD, mplayer svn-20100308, ogg
vorbis header are reported erroneous. I can reproduce this and have
tried a couple of things:

a) Update to trunk. If we do this, ogg vorbis files do not even play:
---8<---
...
[vorbis @ 0x20bb1a810] Vorbis setup header packet corrupt (floors).
[vorbis @ 0x20bb1a810] Setup header corrupt.
[vorbis @ 0x20bb1a810] Index value 45 out of range (0 - 43) for bits
at vorbis_dec.c:520
(repeats over and over).
---8<---

b) Update to 1.0rc3 - same as with svn-20100308
---8<---
...
MPlayer 1.0rc3 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team

Playing 01.Dance_of_the_Manatee.ogg.
[Ogg] stream 0: audio (Vorbis), -aid 0
DEMUX_OGG: header n. 0 broken! len=30, code: -132
DEMUX_OGG: header n. 1 broken! len=193, code: -133
DEMUX_OGG: header n. 2 broken! len=3683, code: -133
Ogg file format detected.
---8<---

In case b), the vorbis file does play, but does not report progress properly:
---8<---
Starting playback...
A: -0.5 (unknown) of inf (-24.-8) 0.7%
---8<---

This vorbis file is fine. It works fine using both ogg123 and ogginfo.
The bug has been seen on both i386 and amd64.

This is clearly badly broken. Does this happen on linux? We could do
with a fix for this fairly soon, as the OpenBSD ports have just locked
and shipping a broken mplayer is not going to make either of our
projects look good.

Cheers
