No subject

cat *.avi | mencoder  -ovc copy -oac copy  -o test.avi 


and in result get concatenated  a few avis in one, but this is not working .

Can any body tell me why mencoder stops  transcoding after first avi ????

is there any other (better) way of doing this with mplayer ??? ( i dont like 
switching to windows )

Second question ,

is there a method for encoding a few parts of  given source (dvd, vob, avi) 
I mean somethig like -ss 01:00 -endpos 3:00  -ss  5:00 -endpos 3:00 ... etc  ?
?
