[MPlayer-users] subtitles in xv mode with expand filter

hi,

i have problem with showing of subtitles. i want to have them in black bars
below video if possible, so i have in my config file
vf-add=expand=:::::16/10
ass=1

now, when i use -vo gl:yuv=4 it works well. if i use -vo xv then subtitles don't
get cleared and they just redraw themselves, so they are unreadable

i found some messages from year 2005 where someone was complaining about this
but there was no solution. someone hinted to use -nooverlapsubs parameter, but
it didn't made any change for me

i use mplayer compiled from svn export from 20th june. platform is amd64, system
ubuntu 9.04, and graphic card is ati with fglrx drivers

any idea how to solve this?
