Please note that 5.1 vs. 6.1 vs. 7.1 has nothing to do with DTS-HD (AFAIK).
I think somebody said on one of the MPlayer mailing lists that not many DTS-HD
discs exist (one?). Even if that's completely wrong, it is very unlikely that
there will be an open-source decoder soon.
(If you really want to do something about that: Ask the inventors for
specification.)
If 7.1 output does not work, you should report this with a sample file.
