Unfortunately, I can't suggest you anything else to try - it doesn't
seem to be related to mplayer, audio/video decoding or audio driver. It
must be related to your video card. Most likely this is problem with
your video drivers; try different (older/newer) versions, for example.
Maybe you should give open source drivers (nv & nouveau) a try. Less
likely it's a problem with your X.org (try upgrading it). Also this can
be hardware problem with video card or motherboard or some kind of
kernel problem, though this is least possible version.
