Hi!

Most important, you did not say what -vo you're using or if you`re scaling  
the video.

If you e.g. use -vo x11 and zoom in software, that probably won't work  
well with HD on any machine, may it be as fast as light.

That sounds OK, if the NVidia is not PCI. AGP should do it, PCIe is best.

Thanks to some very quick responding developers, MPlayer seems to me to  
have significant updates in estimated average twice a week. So you can  
guess how much behind the version from over a year back is.

I would check the way the decoded video reaches your hardware first, not  
the decoder side.
