[MPlayer-users] MPlayer on 64-bit is better than on 32-bit?

I'm planning to upgrade my OS (Ubuntu Hardy) from 32-bit to 64-bit. I'm
mostly using my box for multimedia and the main apps running are wine
(for uTorrent) and, of course, mplayer/ffmpeg.

I'd like to know if is there any performance advantages for mplayer in
64-bit mode. My CPU is a Semprom 2800+ "Palermo" with Part Number ending
in CV (64-bit but no SSE3).

I want to know also if coreAVC works with 64-bit mplayer, but that's not
a hard requirement. On my machine, ffh264 with
"fast:skiploopfilter=all:threads=3" is faster than coreavc17, but is a
little blocky.
