Hi, the deband filter included in ffdshow tryouts reduces banding artifacts without much impact on sharpness and overall image quality. This is baded on GradFun2db: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=108681&page=1 I think it would be very nice to have this feature in MPlayer.
