[MPlayer-users] Problems with MPlayer

I've got three systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. I've installed
MPlayer on all of them, built from source with different results. They all
have NVidia 128 mb video cards. The first machine runs fine. The second and
third machines refuse to play videos of any type one crashing with an error
and the other looks as if its playing properly, but no sound or video
appear. I'm pasting the logs below.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

-Charlie

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: preinit_libvo
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and
  disassembly. Details in
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't
and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible
bug.

I have a /dev/fb0 but for whatever reason mplayer can't open it.

On machine three:

Can't open /dev/fb0: No such file or directory
[fbdev2] Can't open /dev/fb0: No such file or directory
The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec.
Try appending the scale filter to your filter list,
e.g. -vf spp, scale instead of -vf spp.
