[MPlayer-users] What is mpsub file format

I wrote a program to generate mpsub file format.  I don't even know for sure it's called "mpsub".  I can't find a document anywhere saying what the format is other than an example file at:

I need to see how it deals with UTF-8 and unicode.  I also want to know how to do lyric highlighting.  Right now, it just displays the lyric,
then stops and display the next verse.

I can open source this code. This thing works pretty well for generating subtitle files.  It's also very simple to use.
