[MPlayer-users] Is it bug, or my linux OS (sound/video drivers) misconfiguration ?

Try with -nosound, just in case

Compiling a version yourself might be a good idea, too, since I do not
have any such issues. Where is that version from? The "official"
packages for fedora are at livna.org, and their version seems to be
mplayer-1.0-0.91.20080531svn.lvn8, not .fc8 (though I might just
misunderstand the naming scheme)?
