But you can play the dumpfile as it is being dumped. You just have to
worry about the player getting ahead of the dumper. (that sounds
pleasant). However, if you do this there may be some files that won't
play (due to format metadata being at the end of the file) and that
seeking within the file probably won't work. Another problem might be
that the playback will end when the player hits the bytesize of input at
that time the player was started. ie if the filesize of the dumpfile is
100K when the player is started the player may only play 100K of the
file. Not all formats are affected by this, but mp3 and mov used to be.
Been awhile since I have looked into it again.
