You can provide no small amount of help yourself, by doing two things.

One, do a regression test: check out and compile older versions of
MPlayer from SVN in a binary-search fashion until you find out exactly
which revision caused the breakage. With such a wide range to search in,
it will take more tests than usual, but the advantage of binary search
is that it narrows the range down quickly.

Two, and much more important: follow the directions printed at the time
of crash, which were part of the output you posted and which I have left
in the quote below.

The last sentence is important, but somehow almost everyone manages to
miss reading it...
