[MPlayer-users] Mencoder fails: Cannot initialize video driver

This does the same thing...

mencoder dvd:// -dvd-device /home/shared/??????? -alang English -oac copy -ovc x264 -x264encopts pass=3:bitrate= -vf pp=de -o "/home/admin/Videos/?????"

As for bitrate - I haven't quite got that figured out for x264. It wasn't required before, and I'm simply taking these commands out of AcidRip. But because the codec has changed, this now needs to be set. Although I did try this:

mencoder dvd:// -dvd-device /home/shared/?????? -alang English -oac copy -ovc x264 -x264encopts pass=3:bitrate=6000 -vf pp=de -o "/home/admin/Videos/??????"

Same result.

Why is it saying it can't use the video driver? Which video driver is it talking about? And how do I set it?

Also why would the codec be incompatible (note the previous output posted)?
