[MPlayer-users] Trouble with -identify -frames 1 and audio files

Hello list,

I'm using "mplayer -vo null -ao null -identify -frames 1 ..." within a 
script to determine file properties. Now I've stumbled upon a little 
issue. When I run the above command on an MP3 file mplayer plays it 
instead of quitting after 1 frame.

When I use "-frames 0" instead the MP3 isn't played but I can't use 
"-frames 0" anyway because then mplayer doesn't show the video aspect 
ratio (with "-frames 1" it does).

Anyone knows a way around this?
