[MPlayer-users] Xvid encoding: 2 'bumps' at commencement?

Hi,

I have an exasperating problem with encoding some movie selections to
Xvid. I am using the release Xvid encoder 1.1.3 with MPlayer
dev-SVN-r25659-4.1.2. Regardless of what options I try there are always
2 jerks in the video playback /only/ at the very beginning of the
playback and after this there is flawless playback.

FWIW the following settings are aimed at Matrix Reloaded, the Seraph
sparring session. Of more worth are the settings themselves, pass 1:

mencoder -v dvd://1 -chapter 12-12 -alang en \
-vf crop=720:416:0:82 \
-oac copy \
-ovc xvid -xvidencopts pass=1:vhq=4:bvhq=1:quant_type=mpeg:chroma_opt:autoaspect \
-o /dev/null 

Pass 2:

mencoder -v dvd://1 -chapter 12-12 -alang en \
-vf crop=720:416:0:82 \
-oac mp3lame -lameopts vbr=3:q=2:vol=8 \
-ovc xvid -xvidencopts
pass=2:vhq=4:bvhq=1:quant_type=mpeg:chroma_opt:autoaspect:bitrate=800 \
-o matrix_reloaded_Xvid.avi  

I would appreciate any advice in this matter,
