[MPlayer-users] pausing the mplayer while playing

HI All ,
            I am using the mplayer to play the video files (ts format) in my application .I call the mplayer by system call in my application .I pass the file name to the mplayer which I want to play .the file which is playing is fetched from the server at the same time .So some time the play pointer goes beyond the write pointer .At that situation the mplayer stop playing and aborted .So the playing is interrupted .So I want to pause the play while the play pointer and the write pointer are same .So can you tell me how to pause the play through command prompt .If any one have any solution of my problem please tell me .
