A script to be passed to -heartbeat-cmd, you mean? I can see how that
could work, and it is something I hadn't considered. I'm not completely
sure that it would act to reset the screensaver timer (it may be
necessary to have 'xset s off' in effect *at the time that the timer
would run out* in order for it to be effective), but I'm not certain
that it wouldn't eithre.

Of course, the entire point is irrelevant for me, since (as I said) I
now habitually disable screensaver entirely as soon as I start X (or as
soon afterwards as I remember to). It's still useful to note for futore
reference or for other people, however.
