I'm using mplayer often to watch DVB on my single core AthlonXP while surfing
the internet using firefox: I can't remember any video freezes atm, and I only
get "too many packets" if firefox eats all CPU cycles (which is expected then,
I think).

I'll test the patch for regressions.
