If your whole PC freezes up, the problem is either in your operating
system, your drivers or your hardware. But MPlayer certainly is _not_ to
blame (I assume you did not run MPlayer in fullscreen, otherwise it can
be hard to tell if only MPlayer hangs or the whole system).
