[MPlayer-users] RTSP in mplayer

I would like to watch my university's video feeds in mplayer on Ubuntu
Linux. As a test I tried playing a video in Portable Mplayer
(http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/mplayer_portable) on a
university Windows machine, but I got this error:

Both Windows Media Player and Portable VLC
(http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable) can play that
file. Is there any reason that Mplayer could not? What can I
troubleshoot?
