Also the HVR3000/4000 (and others) support multiproto but thats in
addition to enabling multi frontend support. Some cards have multi
frontends and someone have a single frontend.

the HVR4000 for example

/dev/dvb/adapter0/[frontend|demux|dvr|net]0 = DVB-S or DVB-S2 switchable
via an API.
/dev/dvb/adapter0/[frontend|demux|dvr|net]1 = DVB-T
