Alright...
I didn't compile from the source, I was using the Ubuntu package :
MPlayer 2:1.0~rc1-0ubuntu12+3v1ubuntu1

So, now I downloaded the source (MPlayer v1.0rc2 source) from the 
website, compile, and I get :
MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.1.2


and.... This is working perfectly. So, it's probably a problem in the 
ubuntu package.
Do you still need me to backtrack in svn history ?

Anyway, I should have post my message here sooner, it would have saves 
me a lot of hours yesterday :) (and I should have compile MPlayer myself 
too :p , lazy me! )
