[MPlayer-users] playlists and output q's

I'm using mplayer in Ubuntu feisty 7.04

Is it possible for mplayer to read m3u playlists? If so is there a length limit?

Also I have 3 sound cards and would like to try to have 3 instances of mplayer playing from each. BUT I'd like to script it. The -ao alsa is fine but I'd like to have something like -ao alsa "hw:1,0" for the second card "hw:2,0" for the third...

Any help gratefully received!
