[MPlayer-users] [BUG] mencoder -oac lavc produces bad audio sync

The subject "[BUG] mencoder -oac lavc produces bad audio sync" is

So basically, mencoder -oac lavc produces an avi where the audio starts
at some number of seconds instead of 0 and mplayer speeds video up to fix
the problem which messes up audio video sync. Apparently, this hasn't
been fixed? This effect just came up in a discussion on the Finnish
Linux Usenet group sfnet.atk.linux, hence my interest. Is there any work
going onto get this fixed?
