I know about that. My 855 has a limit of 1920x1088 - big enough for all HD 
content I've seen so far. I guess the 845 either can't do that width or the 
driver thinks it can't.

It might be worth checking out those "official" Intel open-source drivers from 
www.intellinuxgraphics.org though. I haven't tried them (I didn't know they 
even existed until they were mentioned in this thread) but I intend to give 
them a spin and see how they compare for 3D.
