[MPlayer-users] dvb:// channel file

I must have missed a turn in the software but have not been able to find
the documentation of how things are supposed to work now. I'm running
mplayer 1.0rc1-rpm.livna.org-4.1.1. Before this version I was able to
do:
mplayer dvb://8

To tune to a channel using the ~/.mplayer/channels.conf file in the
dvbstream tools format. Now using strace I find that it does not try to
open that file. I tried putting one line from the channels.conf into
the first file it tried to open ~/.mplayer/8.conf. But then I get the
message:
Loading config '/home/dhighley/.mplayer/8.conf'
Option 8:555000000:QAM_256:2048:2049:5 needs a parameter at line 1

It also seemed to try several files in ~/.mplayer/sub named; dvb.ifo,
dvb:.rar, and dvb:.idx.
