[MPlayer-users] No subtitles in gmplayer under Suse10.2

No succes. Alas.

I edited my ~/.mplayer/config to look like this:

subfont-encoding=unicode
subfont-text-scale=4
font=/usr/share/fonts/truetype/VeraIt.ttf
#subcp=utf8
subcp=cp1250

After typing gmplayer, this happens:

Cannot load bitmap font: /myhome/.mplayer/subfont.ttf
Can't open joystick device /dev/input/js0: No such file or directory
Can't init input joystick
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: Connection refused
Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote control.
New_Face failed. Maybe the font path is wrong.
Please supply the text font file (~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf).
subtitle font: load_sub_face failed.

Looks like gmplayer defeintely wants that file subfont.ttf
