[MPlayer-users] Problem with DVD playback

I have noticed when playing anime downloads that -sid and -aid often work
when -alang and -slang don't. I can't give any particular examples, but
this does happen. I've assumed that it just has something to do with how
the different fangroups encode things.

I also tried a commercial dvd just now (I normally plan them on a dvd
player, not my computer). The DVD was Ah! My Goddess.

mplayer dvd://10 -dvd-device /dev/hdc -alang ja -slang en -fs didn't
show subtitles
mplayer dvd://10 -dvd-device /dev/hdc -aid 129 -sid 1 -fs did

English doesn't borrow from other languages -- English follows other
languages down dark alleys and takes what it wants.
