My latest installation of Gentoo is giving me problems with DVD playback in mplayer.
I can Open the disc and it will start to play but if I try to choose a title I get:
Struct dvd, field hostname parsing error: 0
and playback just continues, and when I try to choose a chapter, playback stops and I get:
No stream found to handle url dvd://1
which incidentally is the error I was getting whenever I tried to open a disc, up until I symlinked
/dev/dvd to /dev/dvd1.
Some info:
$ emerge -pv mplayer
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

The point is you can see that I have all (?) the necessary dvd features enabled (i.e. dts, dvd,
dvdnav, and dvdread).
This used to work without any great effort on this machine. Any ideas?
Thanks.
